Letter to Esoterik:
After listening to the final song from the local
band ESOTERIK last week, one word came to mind: "Encore, Encore." If
you're a high energy, give me something to feel rock afficionado,
hear me out.
First off, I'm not Mr. Joe Pro Critic with a music degree from
the Chicago School of Fine Arts. Nor do I need anyone telling me
what type of music prompts
those raw, innermost feelings to be brought to the surface. Combine a ripping
lead guitarist who thrives on his moment in the spotlight, a bassist with
a free flowing feel in his every so often intricate bass lines,
double-bass drumming
accented by tasty fills and well placed rolls, and a rhythm guitar that
somehow prompts many of the hardcore air-guitarists to play along
and there it is.
Top this talented mesh of musicians with a lead vocalist bringing it to
you hard and fast with a varied range in his eccentric style and
welcome to ESOTERIK
live. These guys simply put, "Get it done!" in my book. And by
judging from the crowd buzz at the bar, by the pooltables, and even in
the bathroom
I safely conclude a similar effect was felt by many.
So this is but one Central Coast local's short and sweet review of a San Luis
Obispo band that is ESOTERIK. Like most reading this, I enjoy and appreciate
the things in life which bring out the select part of my personality I don't
stimulate often enough. For about five bucks, I'm talking a definite two thumbs
up deal for the working man who needs that oh so important weekend to unwind
and enjoy life. Take advantage now fellow rockers because on a sad note, their
tickets will not be at this price much longer.
